Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

REMAP.club ("we", "our") respects your privacy. This Policy describes how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use our app and our website.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, username, email, date of birth (also used to confirm you meet the 18+ minimum age), profile photo, preferred language and authentication credentials. If you use social login (Google or GitHub), we also receive this information from the provider.
  • Vehicle data: make, model, year, nickname, modification list, technical spec (power, drivetrain, transmission, engine layout) and photos you add.
  • Location: shared in real time with other users nearby while the feature is active. You can stop sharing at any time by turning on invisible mode, which also stops other users from being shown to you. The app only uses your location while it is open — we do not collect your location in the background. We also keep, linked to your account and retained indefinitely while the account is active, an approximate reference to the region of your last sign-in (roughly neighbourhood or city level) and the time zone derived from it, used for security and proximity-based features; each sign-in generates a record with that approximate location.
  • Content you post: chat messages, club posts, reviews and event check-ins. When you create an event or a photo spot, the exact coordinates you set are stored. Photos you upload may contain location metadata embedded by your device at the moment of capture; we do not strip this metadata before storing the image.
  • Technical and device data: IP address, operating system, platform (iOS or Android), device name, push notification token, error logs and aggregated performance metrics. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV or the Android advertising ID).
  • Waitlist and newsletter: when you join the waitlist on the website we collect your email and your phone number (WhatsApp); when you subscribe to the newsletter, only your email.

3. How We Use Your Data

  1. Deliver the app's features (live map, clubs and events).
  2. Keep the platform secure and moderate content posted by users.
  3. Suggest events and routes based on how close they are to you.
  4. Improve the experience and build new features.
  5. Send relevant notifications (you can turn these off at any time).
  6. Comply with legal obligations and court orders.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only with:

  • Other users nearby, while location sharing is active.
  • Infrastructure and maps: hosting and file-storage providers; Mapbox and Google (Places) for address search and map display — search queries and the approximate region are sent to these providers.
  • AI moderation: the images you upload (vehicle and photo-spot images) and event text are transmitted to a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter) for automated checking of inappropriate content.
  • Image generation: Google (Gemini) generates event badge artwork from the event's data.
  • Push notifications: Expo and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging - FCM) process device tokens and notification message payloads to deliver push notifications to your device.
  • Email: Resend sends transactional emails, which contain your email and name.
  • Authorities, when required by law.

5. Your Choices

You control what you share:

  • Location: can be granted or revoked at any time in your device settings.
  • Invisible mode: stops sharing your position from inside the app, without touching system permissions.
  • Notifications: can be turned off on your device or in the app.
  • Tracking: we honour your choice about tracking across third-party apps and websites.

6. Your Rights

At any time, you can:

  • Access, correct or delete your data.
  • Request an export of your data in a readable format by writing to privacy@remap.club.
  • Withdraw consent.
  • Delete your account from within the app, without contacting support.

7. Account Deletion and Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal data, location history and vehicle records are erased from our servers within 30 days.
  • Sign-ups that are started but never confirmed are automatically deleted within 30 days.
  • Reports you filed or that were filed against you, including internal moderation notes, are kept for security and moderation-history purposes even after your account is deleted.
  • Content you posted in shared spaces (clubs, events, photo spots, votes, and boosts) is unlinked from your profile and chat messages are replaced with a "message removed" marker, so the community's conversation history stays intact.
  • If the account was closed for breaking our rules, we keep a minimal moderation record — including an irreversible (hashed) version of the email — for as long as needed to prevent banned accounts from being recreated, on the legitimate-interest basis provided for in the LGPD.
  • Data we are legally required to keep is retained for the required period — this is the case for access logs, which Brazil's Internet Civil Framework (Law 12.965/2014) requires us to keep for a minimum of 6 months.

How to delete your account. You can delete your account directly in the app, under Profile › Settings › Delete Account. If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, email privacy@remap.club from your registered address with your username — there is no need to reinstall the app. Full instructions are on the Account & Data Deletion page.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest, plus internal access controls.

9. Zero Tolerance

We have zero tolerance for unlawful or abusive content, harassment and hate speech. Violations lead to the content being removed and the account being closed. Reports can be filed from within the app and are reviewed as quickly as possible.

10. Age Requirement (18+)

REMAP.club is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to create an account or use the app — there is no parental-consent route for anyone under 18. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and do not create accounts that fall below the minimum age.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete the personal data associated with it. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, write to privacy@remap.club and we will remove it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated by email and/or within the app.
